About TheSumOf
Founded by Kevin Finn, TheSumOf is an independent design practice based in Australia, focusing on brand identity, with an emphasis on simple, strategic, intelligent and accessible communication.

With 20+ years experience, Kevin has applied this focus to helping shape some of the most exciting and diverse businesses, ranging from SBS (the world’s most multicultural broadcaster) to de Bono Global (the primary management company representing Edward de Bono’s life’s work) where he has been Design Consultant and a member of their advisory board.

Kevin also applies this focus to his own entrepreneurial endeavours. As a result, he understands the passion, risks, demands and rewards of generating content, developing products and building a business.

His approach is underpinned by a belief in collaboration. Each project is the sum of everyone involved: clients, suppliers, stakeholders, partners—everyone! Projects also benefit from the sum of everyone’s life experiences, because that’s what makes us all unique and interesting.

Kevin’s personal philosophy is:
There is wisdom in learning.

TheSumOf works with courageous business leaders focused on meaningful projects and who seek to step outside their category convention. The ultimate aim is to make a positive impact.

Keep it simple. Avoid simplistic.

TheSumOf aligns business strategy and perception with branding and communications. In doing so, it’s important to first understand our client’s business and to separate assumptions from truth. It’s also crucial to identify who we’re communicating to and what the message needs to be. This involves deep discussion, collaboration, empathy and experience. And while the aesthetic is incredibly important, how it looks comes last.

The objective is to make the process as accessible, informative and enjoyable as possible with all stages being vital to the outcome.
