Magabala Diaries

TheSumOf was commissioned by Aboriginal publishing house Magabala Books to design and develop two desk diaries. From the outset we were interested in understanding how Aboriginal people view the calendar year, which is fluid and circular, but also how we might develop the diaries as a cross-cultural tool.

Both diaries (2010 and 2011) include a calendar wheel reflecting Aboriginal seasons combined with Western months, with inside pages featuring excerpts from books by Aboriginal authors.
